ParliLinc submissions to House of Commons Liaison inquiry into select committees

A number of members of ParliLinc have each submitted evidence to the House of Commons Liaison Committee inquiry into the effectiveness and influence of the select committee system: Mark Bennister on the Prime Minister’s appearances before the Liaison Committee, Catherine Bochel on public engagement, Hugh Bochel on witness diversity, and Andrew Defty on parliamentary oversight of intelligence and security. The evidence has been published on the Liaison Committee website here. The Inquiry was launched in January 2019 to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the departmental select committee system. 2019 also sees the 10th anniversary of the Wright Report, which brought a wave of reforms, including the election of select committee chairs. The Inquiry will report in late June 2019.
